Science
RATIONALE
Our Science curriculum provides children the opportunities to explore the world around them and gain an increased understanding in the scientific world. We want our children to develop scientific ideas and skills and engage them in concern and care for our planet. This is done through our carefully sequenced curriculum, based upon the programme of study from the national curriculum, which aims to build upon learning in a cyclical manner to deepen understanding and build confidence and knowledge. Our children also experience Science outside of the curriculum, to develop their scientific skills, including: participating in National Science Week; year group science-based trips and visitors; and events and links with local secondary schools.
